What brought you to Texas Hill Country Bank?

I previously worked with the bank’s President and CEO, Roy Thompson, at another financial institution. He contacted me when the Bandera First State Bank Board decided to expand their footprint from Bandera to include Kerrville. I was hired as the Kerrville Banking Center Manager of Texas Hill Country Bank (the bank name changed as we opened the second location in Kerrville). I was attracted to the position because I was able to leverage my years of banking experience — good and bad — to create and manage the financial operations of the banking center to help grow the bank in the Kerrville market from the ground up.

What have you enjoyed most about your role?

Growing and developing a team. We have a lot of experienced bankers with different skill sets at Texas Hill Country Bank. It is rewarding to find young talent and help them grow professionally, because no one succeeds alone.

How have you grown your career?

I feel like my passion for what I do and helping my clients is key to my career growth. I have been fortunate to work in many different departments of the bank, which has given me the opportunity to learn and grow. I am very hands-on. If I cannot solve a problem, I will not settle by transferring the issue for someone else to handle it. I will seek assistance to solve the problem so I can achieve a solution. Each day brings a new challenge and the opportunity to learn from it.

What advice do you have for young professionals to grow their career?

Find something that you love to do and work hard. A strong work ethic will be rewarded personally and professionally.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

As part of the merger with and into Texas Partners Bank, I took on a new role as Treasury Solutions Relationship Manager of the Hill Country market. I have committed myself to the challenge of educating myself and our clients to grow treasury services so that I can help people protect their finances in the hill country market, while continuing to be a vital part of the hill country team that contributes to the success of Texas Partner’s Bank.

What is your experience and career background?

I have 25 years banking experience, and 20 of those years have been in Kerrville. All 25 years have been with community banks focused on deposit operations and personal / commercial banking.

What is your specialty professionally, and how do you serve your clients through your position at Texas Hill Country Bank?

I focus on building relationships with our clients while strategizing to deliver the solutions that make their business banking easier and more secure.

What are your activities and hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my husband Steven, my daughter Skylar, and my son Sterling, and friends. I enjoy most outdoor activities the hill country has to offer. My favorite getaway is a beach vacation.

Which community organizations are you involved with?

I just completed a two-year term as the Hill Country Group president of Financial Women in Texas.

What inspires you about working in the Texas Hill Country?

I love the comfortable and friendly atmosphere of the hill country and being able to develop true relationships with my clients. I find it rewarding to be able to use my years of banking experience to not only help our communities, but to help my friends and neighbors succeed.

Which of our Texas Partners Bank values resonates most with you in your work, and why?

Integrity and Service. I work hard to earn the trust of my co-workers and my clients. It is important to me to meet the expectations of my team and our customers in a professional manner.
