Here's To You, Dad | Father's Day 2022

This Father’s Day, we honor the lifelong education that fathers provide for their children. We asked the dads of Texas Hill Country Bank to share their personal mission of fatherhood and the lessons they have taught their children along the way.

ROY THOMPSON

President & CEO
What is your personal mission as a father?

My personal mission was to raise three children that could stand on their own and be productive members of society.

What is one value or lesson you have instilled in your children as they’ve grown up?

Treat everyone the way you want to be treated and always stand up for yourself.

KENNETH EARLY

EVP, Commercial Relationship Manager
What is your personal mission as a father?

First, to keep my kids safe. Second, to teach them to be happy. Finally, third, to help them be successful.

What is one value or lesson you have instilled in your children as they’ve grown up?

I always made them finish what they started. It is really easy for people to quit when times get tough or when they don’t like something, but that happens to be when the most learning occurs. You can’t be successful if you aren’t happy and you can’t be happy unless you know what you don’t like.

REID CAIN

SVP, Commercial Relationship Manager
What is your personal mission as a father?

My mission as a father is to love, protect, provide, and guide my daughter’s to the best of my ability. My light (life) as a father to my family is a humbling responsibility with daily duties, that when fulfilled with guidance from above, offers the greatest joy.

What is one value or lesson you have instilled in your children as they’ve grown up?

To show unconditional love to everyone God places into their life. Also to never give up and that opportunity comes from outside your comfort zone. Life never goes as planned, so it's important to learn how to be flexible and content with where you are at the moment.
